During our time in business school, we played countless rounds at Yale Golf Course and bonded over our shared love of the game and men's fashion.

The friendship we formed there would ultimately lead us to found Holderness & Bourne together.

New York City

It all began at a New York City coffee shop on 5th Avenue one Saturday morning.

Armed with a shared dream to make performance apparel with a tailoring ethos, we explored New York's Garment District to learn the ins and outs of fabrics and manufacturing.

Over the course of the next few months, we developed our first polo shirt concept and put it into production.

We decided to include our names on the label as a promise of quality and never looked back.

As H&B started gaining momentum, we needed an official headquarters for the team.

The second floor of this charming Victorian landmark located in downtown Rye, New York was our home from 2018-2023.

Armonk, NY Headquarters

We moved into our new corporate headquarters in Armonk, NY in the summer of 2023.

We consolidated our corporate office, warehouse and fulfillment under one roof to continue to provide best-in-class products and service.

The Macdonald is an original H&B style that has been in the collection since the beginning.

This classic performance pique polo is still among our most popular styles owing to its subtle texture and stylish versatility.

Distinguished accessories for golf, travel and lifestyle were a natural extension of the brand.

We started out with a few bags and some on-course accessories. Our accessories offering now includes a full suite of work and travel bags as well as a wide array of stylish belts and headwear.

The Ward Sweater

This signature Holderness & Bourne style featuring a diamond jacquard knit pattern became an instant best-seller thanks to its elevated style and supreme comfort.

The release of The Ward was our first foray into a statement lifestyle piece and was wildly successful. After selling out multiple times, we knew we were onto something with our layering point of view.

Performance Pants & Shorts

The expansion into shorts and pants took some time because we wanted to get them just right. It only took a short while, however, for these styles to be among our best sellers. 

The Wallace Sweater

Drawing inspiration from our signature Ward Sweater, we set out to design a quilted hoodie that was equal parts comfortable and eye-catching.

We’ve been blown away by the demand for this piece and look forward to continuing to craft unique designs with exceptional quality. 

Bettinardi

We traveled to Chicagoland in 2021 to spend some time with the Bettinardi Golf team. It was refreshing to chat with Sam and share stories about our brands and what it means to have your name on the business.

Jay Sjoholm | Red Clay Soul

Jay Sjoholm is the founder and editor of men's lifestyle site Red Clay Soul. We first met Jay in the early days of our brand, and he has been an H&B supporter since 2015. He always provides great product feedback and fresh insight on the current state of men's style.

Christian Foreman | Sunningdale

Menswear stores on Jermyn Street, rugged landscape colors, and the rich tradition of apparel craftsmanship are all UK inspirations points for H&B. We've started to make annual trips to England/Scotland and last year we had the pleasure of meeting up with friend/supporter of the brand Christian Foreman of Sunningdale. It was great to knock it around the Old and New Course with the fourth generation head pro.

Ben Hoffhine | WCC

We spent an afternoon at Westchester Country Club with friend of the brand and one of our first customers, Ben Hoffhine. Ben was the head golf professional at nearby Wykagyl Country Club when we started H&B back in 2014 and took a chance on us. It was great to reminisce with Ben and learn more about the 2023 Hoffhine Memorial pro-member event. We're excited to play a small role in this storied Met event by supplying Holderness and Bourne apparel for all participants.

Ben Griffin | PGA Tour Player

During his 2022 Korn Ferry Tour season, Ben Griffin began to explore on-the-course clothing options. Looking for pieces with a measured fit and an even better feel, Ben connected with the Holderness & Bourne poduct line at Sea Island, where he lives and trains. As he began to wear the clothing on tour, his results got better and better. Finishing second in back-to-back events, it must have been the shirt! Alex Holderness noticed the success and recognized that Ben was wearing H&B, of course. He decided to reach out to Griffin via Instagram, and the two began to build a relationship. Connecting over their love of golf and shared alma mater of UNC Chapel Hill, Ben became an official Holderness & Bourne ambassador in 2022, and he hasn’t looked back.
