We are seeking a full-time Men’s Knitwear Designer to join our design team. The ideal candidate is a detail-oriented and creative professional with experience in men’s knitwear—experience with fully fashioned sweaters is a plus—and a strong understanding of the premium golf and lifestyle market. In this role, you will play a key part in the seasonal development process, from concept through production, ensuring that every product reflects the Holderness & Bourne aesthetic and standard of quality.

Duties & Responsibilities

  •  Conduct market and trend research with a focus on golf relevant and premium style driven knitwear.

  •  Create seasonal concepts, sketches, and presentation boards that align with brand identity and merchandising strategy.

  •  Collaborate closely with Technical Design, Sourcing, and Production teams to develop and maintain detailed tech packs, including sketches, construction notes, and fabric/trim details.

  • Communicate daily with overseas factories on color, fabric, trim, and sample for development and production to ensure accuracy and timely approvals.

  • Maintain an organized design room archive of fabric swatches, trims, and reference materials, and ensure all corresponding line sheets are accurately updated.

  •  Partner cross-functionally with Merchandising, Production, Technical Design, and Marketing to ensure cohesive execution from concept to final product.

  • Adhere to seasonal design calendars and development milestones.

  •  Support additional projects and initiatives as needed to advance the design team’s objectives.

Qualifications

  •   Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Design or a related field.

  •  Minimum 5 years of experience in men’s design, with a strong focus on knitwear.

  • Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and Microsoft Excel; experience in 3D design software (CLO preferred) is a plus.

  •   Strong knowledge of garment construction and fabric properties.

  •   Experience with fully fashioned sweaters is a plus.

  • Elevated sense of style, proportion, and color; ability to translate trends into the Holderness & Bourne aesthetic.

  •   Exceptional attention to detail, strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize effectively, and consistent follow-through.

  •  Ability to manage multiple projects and meet tight deadlines in a collaborative team environment.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Salaries & Benefits

The target salary range for this role is $85,000 to $105,000, based on experience.  The successful candidate will enjoy a compelling overall compensation package including base salary, potential for additional performance-based compensation, 401K, full medical / dental / vision insurance, generous product discounts, and other benefits.

Location / Travel Requirements

This position will be based at our headquarters at 12 Labriola Court, in Armonk, New York. Willingness to commute within Westchester County, NY is essential.
