We were excited to sit down with Mike Cocking and Ashley Mead, two of the principals (along with Geoff Ogilvy, who was away on other business) of renowned Australian golf course design firm OCM Golf. Over the past 15 years, OCM has been the driving force behind the design (and redesign), building, and preservation of some of the world’s highest-profile golf courses.
OCM has been making a splash in our neck of the woods, too, signing on in 2022 to consult on the creation of a plan for Stanwich Club in Greenwich, CT, a William and David Gordon design that first opened for play in 1964. We chatted with Mike and Ashley about OGM’s work at Stanwich, as well as other projects, OGM’s philosophy and style, and how the firm’s values nicely align with ours at Holderness & Bourne.
